A Message from our CEO
Our thoughts go out to everyone affected during these unprecedented times. We all must do what we can to stem the COVID-19 pandemic, and First Solar has taken sweeping measures to help inhibit its spread across our global footprint.
In line with guidance from the World Health Organization, local health authorities and government, we have implemented numerous preventative hygiene and safety measures at our global manufacturing, administrative, and other sites and facilities, including those in the United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
While the circumstances are extraordinary, our focus on the health and safety of our associates reflects a longstanding position that our people form the foundation of everything we do. At this time, the vast majority of our office-based associates are working from home to minimize large concentrations of people at our sites and facilities. With access to a comprehensive suite of communications tools and platforms, associates are fully equipped and prepared to continue to engage with their teams, customers, and partners effectively.

Where associates must be present at an office or on a factory floor, stringent precautionary measures have been implemented, including heightened sanitization of work areas, and appropriate social distancing protocols. While those offices and facilities that have not been subject to government-mandated closures remain open at this time, customers and partners are encouraged to participate in virtual meetings. In those rare circumstances where we must host visitors at our sites, they are required to submit a detailed screening questionnaire in advance of their visit.
For more than 20 years, First Solar has supported our customers and communities through the good and challenging times, and we’re actively implementing and exploring additional ways to support the broader community, including the donation of protective masks to the local communities in Arizona and Ohio in the United States.
