Series 7 FT1 is built on First Solar's time-tested CdTe technology with proven performance across India through a full range of real-world conditions. These modules feature a larger form factor as well as innovative design features.
Series 7 FT1 modules manufactured at First Solar’s 3.3GW/annum facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, feature some of the highest levels of domestic content available among all PV technologies in India. These modules are created specifically for India’s ground-mount PV market to optimize balance of system (BOS) costs and reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) of major PV projects.

Series 7 FT1 utilizes domestically sourced galvanized steel back rails and has been optimized for India’s ground-mount PV market.
Because there is no sunny-side frame to trap dirt and pooled water, this innovative design also promotes natural rain runoff, reduces soiling and improves energy performance.
Larger Module Form Factor
First Solar’s proprietary manufacturing process and CdTe technology allow more form factor flexibility because it is not constrained by industry standard cell or wafer sizes. Along with the added strength and rigidity of galvanized steel back rails, the 1216mm x 2300mm module design optimizes form and function without fear of power loss from cell cracking or other performance-related issues prevalent in crystalline silicon modules.
